Rockstar Leeds founder Gordon Hall dies at 51

A games designer who established one of the studios which made titles in the colossally effective Grand Theft Auto arrangement has kicked the bucket matured 51.

Gordon Hall dispatched Möbius Entertainment, which became Rockstar Leeds and made forms of the open-world game for handheld consoles. 

Mr Hall, from Doncaster, likewise worked in San Diego on the hit western-themed title Red Dead Redemption. 

Rockstar Games said he had assisted with making some "genuinely astonishing games".

Mr Hall established Möbius in 1997, which was subsequently purchased by Rockstar's parent organization Take Two and rebranded as Rockstar Leeds.

The organization said he was "instrumental" in the making of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. 


Companion and previous partner Martyn Brown, a prime supporter of Wakefield-based designer Team17, depicted Mr Hall as "an outright unique case". 


"Gordon was basically splendid to be near, unbelievably propelling and ever sure," he said.

Mr Brown, presently of Five Aces Publishing, added: "He was an amazingly liberal soul who invested a great deal of energy empowering all, particularly understudies at neighborhood colleges."


Excellent Theft Auto, frequently known as GTA, is made by Rockstar Games and is one of the top-selling gaming establishments ever.
